It’s coming up to the fifth year anniversary of Keith Kumasen Abbott’s death. In honor of my father I have re-released his comic novel Mordecai of Monterey. Working with a friend, the new cover is a reflection of the original cover. Water was a significant theme in my father’s later art work. His ashes were scattered in Monterey Bay. The blue circles of the new cover are a perhaps an eye, a drop, a pool or an enso. But let’s not forget the ping! — the bringing of good luck. I hope that this work of my father’s work is recognized for it’s entertainment, energy and representative of the creative spirit for which he dedicated his time and mind.
